In his role as Head of the Wills, Trusts and Probate Department, Jamie splits his time between Temple Heelis LLP’s offices in Windermere and Kendal.
Jamie qualified as a solicitor in1996 and since then has practiced in a broad range of areas within the private client field. His focus, however, has always been on Wills and Trust planning with a view to securing the family wealth. Principally, this involves Inheritance Tax mitigation, but also protecting assets from claims in the event of divorce or insolvency.
Jamie has experience in acting for high net worth individuals from lottery winners to business owners. He has developed considerable expertise in dealing with the administration of estates with business interests and farmland, alongside advising on the tax reliefs that are associated with such assets.
He also has many years experience in managing the affairs of people who are incapacitated as well as dealing with the Court of Protection, often in conjunction with a tax planning exercise.
Jamie is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and is a Partner within the firm. He is married with three young children and when time allows enjoys walking in the Lake District fells.
